Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring by JRR Tolkien book review/recommendation

I am currently reading through the Lord of the Rings series by JRR Tolkien. I recently finished the first book, The Fellowship of the Ring, and would love to recommend this great read.

The Fellowship of the Ring is a fantastic book, one of the greatest classics ever written, in my opinion. It is about a hobbit (four foot tall people who eat two breakfasts) named Frodo Baggins who is thrown into a world of adventure and danger when he inherits a powerful ring from his uncle, Bilbo Baggins. Set in a world full of elves, wizards, dwarves and evil orcs, The Fellowship of the Ring is a magical story that I will remember forever.

My rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.8 stars

This book is for ages: 12+

Books like it: The rest of the series (obviously), The Hobbit Note: you may notice that all of these books are by the same author and about pretty much the same story. That is because this book is so unique and so fantastic that there are few books that can even compare to it.

The Fellowship of the Ring is a great book. It does have violence, and a few intense battle scenes, but not as much as the other two books. It is not written for young kids.

Here’s the Common Sense Media rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 stars

Common Sense Media gave the same age as I did.

So, I hope this recommendation made you want to run to the nearest library or Barnes & Noble to get The Fellowship of the Ring, because that would be great!!😁 However, here’s a fair warning: It’s pretty long and hard to read (it was published in 1954). I consider myself a fairly good, fast reader, and it took me over a month to finish. Please don’t change your mind about reading it! It truly is a great book.

~From one book-loving kid to another, see ya later!
