Babymouse: Dragonslayer by Jennifer L. Holm and Matthew Holm Book Review/Recommendation

Hi again! This is my first kids book review, so whoopee! 😄Babymouse is my absolute favorite graphic novel series, and it has been ever since I read it for the first time when I was eight. Babymouse: Dragonslayer is my favorite Babymouse book.

Babymouse is an elementary school mouse who loves books and LOVES cupcakes. She has a big imagination (there’s a giant squid in her locker). In Babymouse: Dragonslayer, Babymouse’s teacher tells her that due to her bad math grades (she got an F- on her last quiz) she has to become a part of the school math team, the fighting fractions. The book is fun and creative, with funny references to books and movies like The Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, and The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.

My rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐4.3 stars

This book is for ages: 6+

Books like it: The other Babymouse books, Squish         Note: Babymouse has similar clever humor to the Phineas and Ferb TV show.

All of the babymouse books have a mean girl Felicia Furrypaws, who is pretty mean to babymouse (she often teases her about her messy whiskers and she tries to ruin all of Babymouse’s big moments), but for the most part the characters are great role models.

Common Sense Media rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐4.0 stars

Common sense media age rating: 7+

I hope this encourages you to get into the Babymouse series. This book might be made for younger kids, but I still crack up every time it read it, so try reading it, and you’ll love it!

~From one book-loving kid to another, farewell.
